Insect netting in frameless ventilation windows is possible!

To keep pest insects out while maximizing light penetration into the greenhouse, growers have been able to opt for frameless ventilation windows in new construction greenhouses for a number of years now. Until recently, it seemed impossible for growers to install insect netting in these frameless windows. However, it is now possible in two ways!

For over a year now, there has been the option to install the harmonica insect netting system in frameless windows by adding an aluminum profile. The insect netting filter system has been installable in these types of ventilation windows for even longer. At SchermNed, we can provide growers with both systems.

Easy to install

The SchermNed insect netting filter system can be installed from inside the greenhouse. There is no need to modify the ventilation mechanism, saving extra costs and avoiding the risk of leakage.

Jack van der Voort: "When installing the insect netting filter, there is no need to clamp an aluminum profile onto the window. As a result, the ventilation mechanism does not need to be adjusted, which saves a lot of trouble." With winter approaching, it's convenient that the insect netting can be installed from the inside. "With the installation of harmonica netting, the ventilation window needs to be opened about 35 centimeters. Growers generally don't like to do this in cold winter temperatures. Moreover, installing from the outside can be difficult in bad weather."

Climate

More and more growers are choosing insect netting. Growers who have chosen the insect netting filter system have stated that they did not need to adjust their cultivation methods. This applies to both the settings of the climate computer and mentally.

One of the satisfied growers is Wim Peters Kwekerijen. This tomato grower has already equipped one of his four locations, with frameless ventilation windows, with the SchermNed insect netting filter system.
