Screen Installation for Rijk Zwaan Australia

Screen Installation for Rijk Zwaan Australia

SchermNed, as a long-term partner of Van der Hoeven Horticultural Projects, is proud to be involved in the realization of a special project for Rijk Zwaan in Australia. The project includes the supply and installation of a complete screen system, consisting of single and double screen installations, roller gable screens, and insect netting for the modern cultivation facility.

Due to the complexity of the project, which is being carried out on the other side of the world, we have developed detailed drawings and a special assembly manual. This manual is essential for the assembly team, especially considering the time difference. Colleague Martin mentioned that the team on site is able to work quickly and efficiently by using this manual, preventing problems easily.

Martin said:
"I received feedback from the assembly team that the manual was extremely helpful. They were able to go through everything thoroughly and switch tasks quickly, even when questions arose. The time difference made direct contact difficult, but thanks to the clear instructions, they were able to continue working without delays."

The project is progressing as planned, with regular progress meetings and weekly coordination between the teams in the Netherlands and Australia. This structured approach ensures smooth execution, despite the distance.

Challenges and solutions:
The installation of the horizontal screen combined with the gable walls was one of the major challenges of this project. Together with Van der Hoeven, we developed a construction method to mount the screen panels. Thanks to thorough preparation and collaboration with Van der Hoeven and the local team, we are able to install these elements effectively and to the highest quality standards. We have also paid special attention to logistical aspects, such as the transportation of materials and local regulations.

Completion and outlook:
Although the project is still ongoing, we are proud of our assembly team, the progress of the project, and we look forward to the completion of this challenging project. It gives us the opportunity to showcase our expertise in the international market and provide our client Rijk Zwaan with a sustainable and efficient solution for their cultivation facility.
