RAI Amsterdam

Since taking over Alsemgeest Scherminstallaties on 15 April 2024, SchermNed has proudly continued its long-term relationship with RAI Amsterdam. We were soon given the opportunity to carry out the first project, working with Van Dorp Installaties, which is responsible for the maintenance of the RAI.

For this project, we replaced the fabrics of four blackout roller screens with an area of around 375 m². Two of the four screens have double fabrics in a twin system. This ensures that even greater heights can be fully darkened. The event cloth used not only has a sun protection and blackout function, but also improves acoustics by absorbing sound. In addition, all the fabrics are fire-retardant, essential for a venue like the RAI.

Our VCA-certified craftsmen carried out the work at great heights, using aerial platforms to remove the old fabrics and mount the new ones. Thanks to this renovation, the RAI is now able to respond more flexibly to the wishes of its clients and to fully darken this hall again for special events.
