Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp
Century-old building
The roof of the more than 140-year-old building is mostly glass. Under the glass roof, each auditorium has been given a glass atrium in the ceiling. By applying a double and moving screen above the glass atrium, good light control can be achieved in the halls. This also ensures that the works of art in the building are well protected from daylight.

18 double climate screens
For the glass roofs, we worked with the customer to choose a double screen system. The system is pulled by a stainless steel tensile wire on a shaft tube. In total we have realized 2.000 m² of screens in 18 double climate screens which are driven by 36 motors.
Svensson fire resistant Harmony screens
The system consists of two Harmony fabrics from Ludvig Svensson. The lower screen is a Harmony screen that distributes shadow and light evenly. The upper cloth is a white screen cloth with closed structure, consisting of reflective properties resulting in a cool indoor climate. With these two cloths, optimal light control is achieved for the rooms located below the atriums.
