From installation to renovation: future-proof shading at Haagse Poort
For the atrium of Haagse Poort, we recently carried out major maintenance and renovation works on the shading installation. A project with history: since 1993, we have been involved in the development, maintenance and renovation of the shading system at this location. Commissioned by Stoneweg on behalf of Yova Haagse Poort B.V., and in collaboration with V&K Real Estate, we are working on a reliable and future-proof solution for the atrium.
Focused on climate reliability and continuity
The shading installation plays an important role in controlling the indoor climate of the building. The screens follow the position of the sun and regulate the amount of daylight entering the atrium throughout the day. At night, the screens return to a 0-position. The system consists of four shading panels that can be controlled individually, allowing it to respond flexibly to changing conditions in the atrium.
During the renovation, we carried out, among other things:
replacement of the fabric
installation of new acoustic insulation material
mechanical upgrades to the installation
Based on the long-term maintenance plan (MJOP), we work closely with the client to assess the current condition of the installation and determine the right choices for the future. This ensures the system remains in good condition, with a focus not only on maintenance but also on forward planning.

Collaboration and knowledge built over the years
The work was carried out in an active office environment. This requires a careful approach, minimising disruption for employees. In close coordination with the client and the execution team, the work was planned and carried out in such a way that daily operations in the building could continue as usual. This way of working demands flexibility and thorough preparation. Since the initial development, a wealth of knowledge has been built up, which is still applied in current projects. Over the years, this involvement has been passed on within the team, ensuring that experience and expertise are retained. This enables us not only to execute projects, but also to provide targeted advice on maintenance, adjustments and optimisations.
Utility projects require a tailored approach
Projects in the utility sector require a different approach than those in greenhouse horticulture. Consider factors such as intensity of use, aesthetics, and the interaction with both the building and its users. With these works, we ensure that the shading system in the Haagse Poort atrium continues to perform as expected, now and in the future.
