Ardennenweekend SchermNed en Vitrona in maart 2023

Last March, the teams from SchermNed and sister company Vitrona left for the beautiful Ardennes. A weekend full of adventure, surprises and fun is how the teams experienced the Ardennes weekend.

How it started

The Vitrona Naaldwijk showroom was the meeting point before departure. Here a delicious lunch was ready for everyone to start the weekend well. The groups for the team activities were announced while enjoying a delicious sandwich. The tension was of course high when it was announced what the surprise destination was for this weekend. The Ardennes!

After a pleasant carpool ride, everyone arrived at the beautiful accommodation in Libramont-Chevigny. Host Simon provided a warm welcome on location with a snack and a glass of bubbles. A toast was made and the fun weekend in the Ardennes could now really start.

A weekend full of activities

Curious, everyone went to the rooms to unpack their things. There were some treats on the beds, earplugs and the program booklet for the weekend. After freshening up it was time for a delicious dinner. After dinner there was plenty of time to catch up with each other, play games and enjoy a cozy atmosphere around the campfire in the courtyard.

The next morning everyone was expected to have breakfast early. Then the bus left for a beautiful location for sporting activities. After a clear explanation about mountain climbing and a group photo, everyone was ready. After a challenging climb, some colleagues returned to the bottom of the mountain while others opted for a return via the zip line. Teamwork was central during this challenging and sporting activity. All colleagues helped each other through it.

After climbing the mountain, a well-deserved lunch was ready on location, after which the afternoon program immediately followed. This activity focused on various components such as mega volleyball, slingshot shooting and puzzle solving. Due to the strong current that day, it was unfortunately not possible to go rafting. We wouldn't be team SchermNed and Vitrona if we left it at that. That's why it was decided to play laser tag in the forest instead. The little child came back to everyone's mind for a moment.

A day full of activities ended in a heated tipi tent. All colleagues sat around the campfire while enjoying Belgian beers, wines and delicious snacks. Dinner was served in the same attractive tipi tent. Tables were set up around various campfire spots and everyone enjoyed a well-deserved dinner. This pleasant evening ended with a torchlight procession to the bus that took us back to the accommodation.

Nice evening
Once back at the accommodation, everyone had time to freshen up and recover from the activities. The colorful evening was still planned and a DJ had been arranged for this. The DJ provided an unforgettable evening. There was so much dancing that colleagues even had to recover by the campfire.

What an incredibly successful weekend! On to the next one.
