3D Engineering: From Concept to Precision

3D Engineering: From Concept to Precision

When you walk into our office, you might occasionally hear someone say: “Are you playing a game again?” But what appears on the screen of our draughtsman Martin is anything but a game. Using advanced 3D software, he works daily on projects that are designed down to the finest detail from the Westland to locations all around the world.

Insight creates advantage

“I’ve noticed that we’ve recently been awarded projects specifically because we can engineer in 3D,” says Jack van der Voort. The Westland-based specialist in screen and netting systems invested in 3D software and training about a year and a half ago. “I did have to swallow when I saw the price of the special mouse 600 euros is quite something,” he admits with a smile. Today, the investment is clearly paying off. With this new engineering software, projects for clients worldwide are being designed and calculated with precision. Interest from the greenhouse construction sector is also growing. “Project managers working on-site appreciate the 3D models, as they provide a much clearer picture of what will eventually be realised.”

Practical benefits on-site

The advantages extend well beyond the design phase. During installation both in the Netherlands and abroad. The 3D system proves highly valuable. Especially in regions where less technical expertise is available, clear 3D visualisations make a real difference. Even details such as a specific suspension can be reviewed in advance. “It’s also convenient for our own installation teams,” adds Jack. “Everyone has their own way of working, but this provides one clear standard. It prevents discussions and saves time.”

Focused on quality

3D engineering not only improves communication, it also enhances the overall quality of our export projects and that’s no small thing. “As part of the Dutch horticultural industry, we have a strong international reputation to uphold. That starts with solid preparation.” Feedback has been very positive, ranging from ‘very practical’ to ‘impressively precise.’ For us, continuous development is simply the logical next step. Experience alone isn’t enough success comes from combining craftsmanship with modern technology.
