Updated shaft bearing plate for a longer lifespan

The old shaft bearings at Kwekerij Arno Kuipers were in dire need of replacement. In fact, the situation was so bad that the old shaft bearings were completely worn into the pipe axis. During the repair work, our mechanics installed the updated, rust-free aluminum shaft bearing plates.

The use of eight shaft bearings prevents cut edges in the axis,which directly results in a longer lifespan. In addition, the shaft bearings themselves are better positioned, as a result of which the forces in the bearing plate are better absorbed when winding and unwinding the cable. And to top it off, misalignment is a thing of the past due to the lack of welds.

The system with the new shaft bearing plate runs smoother than before. Depending on the number of controls, the new low-maintenance shaft bearings can definitely last another 20 to 30 years, which means that my successor will also benefit. Talk about sustainable!" says owner Arno Kuipers.
